CEC Welcomes Korell Velez As New Girls Basketball Coach

CEC is thrilled to share that Mr. Korell Velez has been named the new Head Coach for the Girls Basketball program.Velez, a Levittown-native, joins the program as an accomplished travel basketball/AAU coach with more than 10 years of experience helping student-athletes promote their academic and athletic ambitions. Velez takes the helm at CEC after a long tenure coaching both boys and girls youth basketball in the Bucks County area for various programs, including the Bensalem Chargers and Pennsbury travel programs during the winter and spring seasons."I am very excited to bring my passion and energy to the high school level and look forward to continue growing the game at Conwell-Egan," said Velez."We are confident that Coach Velez' experience and passion for the game will continue to propel the girls basketball program forward at CEC," said Athletic Director Mike Miller. >CEC is thrilled to share that Junior Andrew Haney has been named this year's recipient of the Widener University and WCAU-TV NBC 10 High School Leadership Award. This program, which has celebrated the accomplishments of over 1,400 outstanding students since its inception, is designed to honor high school students in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey who exemplify the university’s commitment to develop and inspire leaders to effect positive change. Brian O'Hara '78 Named Head Football Coach

>FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7 (FAIRLESS HILLS, PA) – Conwell-Egan is pleased to announce that Brian O’Hara has been named the new Head Football Coach. O’Hara, a member of the Bishop Egan Class of 1978, has served on the CEC sideline as Assistant Coach for the Offensive and Defensive Lines since 2019. O’Hara’s early coaching career included stints at Archbishop Wood, Neshaminy High School, and Bishop Egan as an Offensive Line Coach.“We are thrilled to have Brian take the reins and extend the tradition of excellence established by Coach Techtmann,” said Athletic Director Mike Miller. “Brian’s dedication to CEC will ensure that the positive trajectory of the program will continue to advance. Cecilia is a resolute two-sport athlete excelling in both softball and volleyball. A standout on field and court, Cecilia has demonstrated her talent, leadership, and commitment to success throughout her high school career.Cecilia is a four-year Varsity member of the Softball team. She received First Team All-Catholic honors her sophomore and junior years. She has had the privilege of playing in the Carpenter Cup All-Star Game in 2023 and 2024, which features the best softball players in the tri-state area. She was honored as a Second Team All-Star selection in 2023.Cecilia and the team have achieved tremendous success throughout her career. They were Catholic League Champions in 2023 and 2024. They have been three-time District 12 AAA Champions in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
